F.A.Q.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

In which language can I contact you?

The staff of our medical tourism agency who assist you throughout your stay and accompanies you to the clinic speaks French, English, Russian and Hungarian.

Can I pay in euros in Hungary?

At our clinic you can pay in Euros, in British Pounds or in Forints (our Hungarian currency) in cash or using your credit card.

If you pay for your dental care in cash you get a 3% immediate discount.

Most department stores and shopping mall stores accept euro too.

Bank cards are welcome almost everywhere in Hungary.

Can I be sure that I will receive the dental treatment completely as described in the treatment plan?

Yes of course. The treatment plan is prepared by the dental surgeons at our partner dental clinic based on the personal examination and the negotiations with you to finalise what you need and what can be and should be performed.

Our medical tourism agency in Hungary assists you during the preparation of the treatment plan. We make sure you are offered all relevant possibilities and also that you are not influenced to take what is not necessarily needed, but only the most appropriate dental care, for the best price possible. Our presence and assistance during your dental treatment is also a guarantee that everything is done according to the treatment plan.

So it is not only the agreement between you and the dental clinic, but also the contract between our agency and the dental clinic that ensures the complete realization of all your dental care in a superior quality. This way you have a double protection. Even if you travel alone, you are never alone since we always take care of you.

Is the placement of a dental implant painful?

No, as the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, you will not feel any pain during the intervention. All you will feel during the placement of the dental implants will be rather a vibration and a slight pressure when the implant is screwed into the bone, but no pain. It is generally thought that the placement of an implant is easier to tolerate than a tooth extraction.

It is possible though that discomfort may be felt in the days after surgery and swelling may occur which is a normal sign of the healing process.

In the week following the placement of the dental implant the stitches may also cause minor discomfort.

Our dentist provides you with detailed medical advice for this period.

Is it necessary to send a panoramic X-ray and pictures?

We are regularly asked to give the price of a certain treatment without any further information of the patient, for example: "How much is a dental implant with a metal-free bridge for 3 missing teeth?"  This really puts us in a difficult situation, because we can list you a set of treatments, but you will miss the most important part, that is to get useful information about the state of your mouth, jaws, gum, teeth... etc., which must be inevitable for you as well to properly plan your medical tourism trip to Hungary or elsewhere. But if you send us exactly the treatments you think you need, we can already send you a preliminary calculation, which will not take into account any circumstances.

It is therefore very important that you know that without sending at least a panorama x-ray and possibly a picture of your teeth in general, all estimates will not be more, whichever clinic sends it to you, than just the listing and adding up of the prices of a set of probable treatments. This cannot be satisfactory for you neither, and you cannot base a serious decision of where to go for a personal examination and to have your treatment plan formulated, and eventually your treatments performed. It is, on the contrary, the more information you supply about yourself, the more detailed quotation you should be getting and the way a serious quotation is formulated will help you decide which clinic is more serious and prepared to meet all your needs despite any situation that might arise during your treatment.

We state that every medical case is unique enough to have to evaluate them each separately and individually. There is too much chance of missing something important from your planning without getting a serious quotation, which absolutely needs a panoramic x-ray. You yourself will be more satisfied as well if your treatment plan will resemble the initial quotation, and you don't just find out on the spot an important factor about the state of your oral and general health.

The final treatment plan is always and only prepared after a personal examination in our dental clinic in Hungary to make sure we take into consideration all probable circumstances and that you know all relevant points before the treatment is started.

So then, how much does a dental crown on a dental implant cost?

Well, if you still insist on an initial calculation, after reading our answer to the question above on how important it is that we get a panoramic X-ray and some pictures as well, we can say it is rather easy to do a calculation with our affordable dental prices because we do not have any hidden fees.

Our dental crowns and dental bridges have only one price, they do not cost more if they are installed on dental implants.

Our standard oral examination that we always perform for all patients before formulating the treatment plan is also free of charge.

The preparation of a dental crown on a dental implant can be calculated by adding the prices of the treatments carried out during the three following steps:

  • Step 1. Visit 1. The insertion of the dental implant into the jawbone performed by our dentist specializing in implantology. The price is 490 € / 440 £ per implant.
  • Step 2. Visit 2. Installation of the abutment in the implant after the healing period. The price is 100 € / 90 £ per abutment.
  • Step 3. still during Visit 2. The preparation and installation of your dental crown. The price of a metal-free crown that is made entirely of porcelain or entirely of Zirconia or is a ceramic Zirconia combination is 270 € / 240 £ per element, the price of a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown is 190 € / 170 £ per element.

So, a dental implant for 490 € / 440 £
a pillar for 100 € / 90 £
a metal-free crown for 270 € / 240 £
The final sum is 860 € / 770 £ for a metal-free crown on a dental implant.

OR

a dental implant for 490 € / 440 £
a pillar for 100 € / 90 £
a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown for 190 € / 170 £
The final sum is 780 € / 700 £ for a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown on a dental implant.

OR

If you need a 3-element metal-free dental bridge with 2 dental implants, you can calculate in the same way:
2 dental implants for 490 x 2 = 980 € / 880 £
2 pillars for 100 x 2 = 200 € / 180 £
3-element metal-free dental bridge for 270 x 3 = 810 € / 720 £
The final sum is 1990 € / 1780 £ for a metal-free bridge of 3 elements on two dental implants.

It is important to note, however, that without a personal examination and a panoramic X-ray we cannot say if any additional examinations or treatment may be necessary or not.

Our dentists are ready to send you a preliminary offer if you send us your panoramic X-ray and some pictures of your teeth or where the teeth are missing. You can send us an email, write to us using the chat application or use the online quote request form.

Each patient is a unique case and the treatments may vary. In your treatment plan, we will describe in detail the process of your planned treatment by offering the most favorable rates possible in your case.

Should I be on a special diet after a dental implant surgery?

It’s important to avoid any foods that may physically disturb the implant. Especially during the first days after a dental implant surgery, patients are advised to choose soft food rich in protein, minerals and vitamins, to promote rapid healing. They should only gradually progress into solids and eventually normal food.

  • Choose the right food to avoid any discomfort during eating.
  • Keep hydrated from the first moment and do not skip any meals just choose well what you take.
  • If you are on a special diet inform your dentist about it before the surgery so he can advise you in time, but generally you should follow through with your diet during the recovery days as well.
  • Avoid hot or spicy food or drinks, for they can promote bleeding or swelling.
  • Avoid smoking, it is strongly advised not to smoke, possibly at all, as excessive smoking could compromise the success of the intervention. It should be easier for you to refrain from smoking if you quit smoking already some time before the surgery.
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages as well.

Our dentists provide you with necessary and useful medical advice for the healing period after the intervention of dental implants.
